Jay O’Keeffe practices with Johnson, Rosen & O’Keeffe, LLC, in Roanoke, where he splits his practice between appellate litigation and consumer-protection work.
Jay has briefed or argued dozens of cases before the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the Court of Appeals of Virginia. He publishes this blog and another one, De Novo, that is available at www.virginiaappellatelaw.com.
Often recognized for his appellate work, Jay is regularly named as a Virginia Super Lawyer and member of Virginia Business’s Legal Elite. He maintains an AV rating from Martindale and a 10/10 rating from Avvo.
Jay is married to the amazing Carrie Moore O’Keeffe, a competitive runner and amateur nutritionist who coaches soccer at Patrick Henry High School. In a prior life, Carrie was a professional soccer player and teammate of Mia Hamm and Abby Wambach. She remains the more interesting spouse by far. They have three children: Caroline, Jack, and Cricket.
In his spare time, Jay teaches federal litigation at the UVA. He’s an obsessive and thoroughly mediocre cyclist.
